The Better Business Bureau of Greater Cincinnati has named finalists for its 2004 Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics. The awards honor companies that commit themselves to ethical practices in all aspects of their business.
Winners will be announced Oct. 28.
In the category for businesses with up to nine employees, the nominees are Cincinnati Cabinet Refacing, Libertas Technologies LLC, Meyer Capital Management Inc. and Steve Zimmer Remodeling.
In the category for businesses with 10-99 employees, the nominees are Aveda Fredric's Institute, Blaine Pharmaceuticals, HHB Partners Inc., ISOC.net and SparkPeople Inc.
In the category for businesses with more than 100 employees, the nominees are Champion Window and Door Manufacturing Co., Ghent Manufacturing Inc. and Total Quality Logistics Inc.
In the category for nonprofit companies with revenue of less than $5 million, the nominees are Crayons to Computers, LifeCenter Organ Donor Network and Santa Maria Community Services Inc.
In the category for nonprofit companies with revenue of more than $5 million, the nominees are Cincinnati Union Bethel, Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center Inc. and People Working Cooperatively.
