Giorgio Armani's expanded made-to-measure service really has the personal touch: Each suit, shirt, tie or topcoat features a customized label inscribed with "Giorgio Armani for ..."
A tailor fills in that blank with the name of the purchaser after he finishes making a garment based on individual measurements taken at an Armani store. Those measurements are then kept on file for future purchases.
R&B star Usher was one of the first customers to take advantage of the service - and he was waited on by Armani himself.
Usher - and anyone willing to pay between 10 percent and 15 percent more for their Armani suit - can choose from a range of wools and ultra-smooth flannels. Other custom touches include the number of buttons and whether or not the jackets will have vents.
Shirt styles offer straight and button-down collars, optional embroidered monogramming, and button or double cuffs. Men can pick the length, width, fabric and print of their ties.
The fall collection is more formal than in recent years with an emphasis on tailoring, especially well-fitted shoulders.
