Kentucky obituaries



The Kentucky Enquirer publishes obituaries of residents in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties as a free service. Boone County

Joann W. Turner

FLORENCE - Joann W. Turner, 71, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital in Florence. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Church in Florence.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Turner Jr.; one daughter, Terri Jo Turner; three sons, Thomas Michael, Timothy Lee and Todd Joseph Turner; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m.,with blessing at 11 a.m., Saturday, at Stith Funeral Home in Florence.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger.

Campbell County

Richard L. Bleser

WILDER - Richard L. Bleser, 69, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas. He was a retired meat cutter for Kroger, a member of the Corpus Christi Social Club, Holy Name Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and Brighton Center Seniors.

His wife, Norma Bleser, died earlier.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin and Keith Bleser; two daughters, Karen Spangler and Kim Lawler; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Newport. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Spirit Church in Newport.

Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas.

Mary Hubbard

NEWPORT - Mary Catherine Elizabeth Delay Hubbard, 79, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas. She was a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.

Three sons died previously: Harry King in 1985, Gary King in 1993 and Curtis Hubbard in 1998.

Survivors include two sons, Richard and Thomas King; two daughters, Shirley Will and Sherrie Weinel; one sister, Bert Ott; two brothers, Tom and John Delay; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. today at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.

Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

Brooks Schwarberg

FORT THOMAS - Brooks Schwarberg, 84, died Friday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas. He was the former owner of Krauss Awning, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Optimist Club of Newport, Boy Scout leader for Troop 49, and a member of the board of the Buenger Boys and Girls Club.

He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Newport, where he served a term as president of the congregation, Life Partners Fellowship Group, was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Retired Men's Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Maschinot Schwarberg; three daughters, Bonnie Hoffman, Jan McMath and Debbie Hecky; one sister, Evelyn McReynolds; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. with service following at noon Saturday at St. John's United Church of Christ in Newport. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas is handling arrangements.

Vernon Snowden

NEWPORT - Vernon Snowden, 64, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas. He was a printer employed by Nelson Printing Co.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Snowden, two sons, Steven Lee and Vernon Wayne Snowden; one daughter, Treva Marie Snowden; one brother, Thomas Slaven and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today with service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home in Grants Lick.

Burial will be in Peach Grove Cemetery.

Kenton County

Michael E. Connor

LATONIA - Michael Edward Connor, 54, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Latonia, died at home. He was the piano player for the country-rock band Pure Prairie League, an avid sailor and owned race horses.

Survivors include his wife, Heidi Anderson Connor; son, Chris Duffy; and daughter, Corina Duffy.

Visitation will be 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Church in Latonia.

Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright.

Russell E. Knoerl

UNION - Russell Elmer Knoerl, 75, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital in Florence. He was a research lab technician employed by General Electric, a Covington fireman and a farmer. He played on the last undefeated Holmes football team and played football at the University of Kentucky under Paul "Bear" Bryant.

His son, Mikus Elmer Knoerl, died earlier.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ellen Knoerl; three daughters, Vicky Lynn Ison, Cindy Lou Knoerl, Tammy Lee Carnahan; one son, Marcus Russell Knoerl; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Service will be at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger.

Pendleton County

Fred W. Moore

FALMOUTH - Fred William "Bill" Moore, 83, died Tuesday at home. He was a retired employee of Mid-state Motor Freight in Cincinnati, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Roanoke Christian Church, where he served as a deacon for many years.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie Moore; two sons, Rodney and Dean Moore; one daughter, Joan Messmer; two brothers, Randall and Elwood Moore; one sister; Wanda Jenkins; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Roanoke Christian Church in Pendleton County.

Burial will be in Morgan Cemetery in Pendleton County.
