Fla. hurricanes keep Cinergy crews busy
By Dan Klepal Enquirer staff writer
About 100 Cinergy employees are still helping to restore power in Pompano Beach for Florida residents who were battered last weekend by Hurricane Frances. Meanwhile, Hurricane Ivan could hit the Florida Keys Sunday.
Cinergy spokeswoman Kathy Meinke said workers have been in Florida for a week and have another week of work left. Earlier, Cinergy sent a different group of 150 who volunteered to work in Florida after Hurricane Charley, which hit Aug. 13.
Meinke said it's possible that the Cinergy crews already in Florida will be redirected to help areas that lose power after Ivan.
