Chiropractor sponsors school safety day
MADEIRA - A chiropractor will sponsor Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness Day for elementary school children.
Dr. Matt Finke, owner of Finke Family Chiropractic at 7809 Laurel Ave., is part of an international network of chiropractors involved with this initiative, now in its 10th year.
The event, which takes place at Madeira Elementary School from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, will feature free fingerprinting of all children and tips for fire safety. Finke's office, Finke Family Chiropractic, will donate special child ID cards to every child who attends. The practice also will give free spinal exams and scoliosis screenings, and distribute information on disease prevention and health issues that affect children. Workshop helps redesign your life
FLORENCE - A workshop designed to help people get more out of their personal and work life is available free of charge starting Tuesday.
CMC Properties, owner of tenant-oriented office developments in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, has scheduled a four-session workshop, "Tools for designing a life that works." The workshop is available to all CMC tenants and is also open to the public. It will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Sept. 21 and Sept. 23, at the CMC Office Center - Turfway, at 73 Cavalier Blvd.
The workshop will be presented by Paul Coulter, a coach, mentor and small business and sales training consultant.

Internet provider acquires IAC business
FLORENCE - Internet service provider ISOC recently acquired a company that was the Cincinnati area's first Internet service provider.
ISOC President Richard Cummins has announced the purchase of IAC. Acquisition of related businesses is part of ISOC's five-year strategic plan. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
"When looking for companies to acquire ... I look for a company that is compatible with ISOC and provides similar or complimentary products and services to our company," Cummins said.
Said IAC president Jeff Saylor: "I wanted to sell the company to someone whose corporate philosophy was similar to ours."
According to Cummins, ISOC has experienced double-digit growth each year since its 1996 founding. The company's services include commercial and residential connectivity, Web site design, hosting and co-location. (859) 525-8730.
Cafe offers tea, coffee, desserts, drive-through
WEST CHESTER - Coffee, tea and specialty beverages are the mainstay at a new coffee shop.
Brewed Awakenings, a coffee and tea cafe, is now open at 9239 Floer Drive, just off Union Centre Boulevard. It serves breakfast items as well as soups, sandwiches, desserts and smoothies. Folks on the go can order from the drive-through window.

Video production firm partners in shows
MT. AUBURN - A local video and multimedia production company is expanding its national market through several partnerships.
This summer, Curtis Inc. worked with GE and the producers of the History Channel's Tactical to Practical. The show segments were filmed in Southwest Ohio and in California. It will air later this year, according to Ken Graf of Curtis Inc.
Curtis also partners with local outdoorsman and storyteller Bodie Owens to produce his weekly show, Whitewater Trails. The show airs in 28 markets around the country and is carried locally on Channel 19.

Window cleaners win top producer award
WEST CHESTER - A local franchise cleaned up at the company's convention in St. Louis.
Doug and Anne Koliboski, Fish Window Cleaning franchise owners, were honored with the "Top Producer" award at Fish's annual convention. The award was based on 2003 revenues.
"The Koliboskis' ambition, hard work, and squeaky-clean image are all reasons why they earned Top Producer," said Mike Merrick, president of Fish Window Cleaning. The couple earned two other awards: Top Sales for acquiring the most new accounts during 2003 and Star Performer for per capita revenues in their territory.

TANK to feature Intrinzic ad campaign
ANDERSON TOWNSHIP - Intrinzic's work will soon be riding TANKs.
The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky has contracted with Intrinzic Marketing & Design Inc. to develop and execute an overall strategy for consumer advertising and promotion throughout the Northern Kentucky region.
The project will include research, planning, creation of promotional materials to support the theme, media purchase, follow-up and analysis. The goal is to build public awareness of TANK's services and increase ridership.
The public transportation network serves Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties, and downtown Cincinnati. Nearly 4 million passengers annually ride more than 100 TANK buses.
