Fall folk festival at Erlanger library

ERLANGER - 2004 Grammy nominee Zak Morgan will perform Saturday at a fall folk festival sponsored by the Kenton County Public Library.

The festival runs from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Erlanger Branch Library, 401 Kenton Lands Road. Local artisans will demonstrate crafts including quilting, spinning and crochet. Activities for children include face painting, clowns and a chance to tour an Erlanger fire truck.

NAACP lawyer lunch to honor chief justice

COVINGTON - Chief Justice Joseph E. Lambert of the Kentucky Supreme Court will be honored Sept. 29 at the Third Annual Lawyers Luncheon of the Northern Kentucky Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in partnership with the Northern Kentucky Bar Association. The luncheon will be noon-1:30 p.m. at the Radisson Riverview Hotel in Covington.

The event's theme is "Social Responsibility & the Criminal Justice System," which will include discussing community outreach programs to reduce crime. David James, chief investigator for the state attorney general's office, will be the keynote speaker.

Forum to discuss energy, environment

A public forum to discuss energy choices and environmental challenges will be held Wednesday at Thomas More College.

The event is part of a national series of public meetings called "The People Speak." Speakers will include John Davies, director of the Kentucky Department of Energy and Chris Lorentz, Thomas More College professor of biology.

The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. at Steigerwald Hall-Holbrook Student Center, at the college in Crestview Hills.

Trinity Episcopal offers lunch concerts

COVINGTON - Trinity Episcopal Church is offering a Midday Musical Menu 12:15 p.m., Wednesday with a violin recital featuring Hye Yoon Park. The free lunchtime concerts are offered the third Wednesday each month. Bring your own lunch or purchase one from the Women of Trinity for $6.

Park, recreation board changes meeting spot

FORT MITCHELL - The city's park and recreation board has changed its meeting location for fall and winter.

From October through April, meetings of the Fort Mitchell Park and Recreation Board will be the first Wednesday of the month in city council chambers at the city building, 2355 Dixie Hwy. The next meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
