Lunchtime: The Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will hold its second Women Against MS luncheon Sept. 22 in the Pavilion Room of the Cincinnati Hilton Netherland Plaza, downtown. Speaker is actress and playwright Mierka Girten. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Tickets: $75. Registration: 769-4400.

Deeper sleepers: St. Luke Hospital East, 85 Grand Ave., Fort Thomas, will hold a free seminar on sleep disorders at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22. Reservations required: (859) 572-3535.

Happy hearts: The Christ Hospital and Lindner Center for Research and Education will hold a free heart health program 4-6 p.m. Sept. 22 at the hospital, 2139 Auburn Ave., Mount Auburn. Reservations required: 585-2273.

Men's health: Mercy Hospital Clermont in Batavia will offer prostate cancer screenings 1-3 p.m. Sept. 23. Screenings will include a digital rectal exam and prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test. $10. Appointments required. 956-3729.

Expo: The Multiple Sclerosis Center in Clifton will hold the area's first MS Expo 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington. Free. Information: 487-4878 or www.hopehelphealth.org.

Play doctor: The University of Cincinnati Mini Medical College starts Oct. 5. Sessions are 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $69 for eight sessions. This year's schedule:

• Oct. 5: "Tools of Surgical Innovation" and "Will We Continue to Operate on Low Back Pain?"

• Oct. 12: "Prostate Cancer in 2004: Controversies and Options" and "Tumors: What's in a Name?"

• Oct. 19: "Laparoscopic Weight Loss Surgery" and "The Great Diet Debate: Low Carb vs. Low Fat."

• Oct. 26: "Air Pollution: How Is It Affecting Our Children?" and "Allergies in Children: Why the Nose Blows."

Steppin' out: The American Heart Association will hold four Heart Walks to raise money for research and education:

• Saturday: Bicentennial Commons in Middletown with a 3- or 4.5-mile course.

• Sept. 25: The Fitton Center on the Hamilton Bike Path. Walkers set their own course with a maximum of 10K.

• Oct. 2: Veterans Memorial Park in Clermont County with a 5K course.

• Oct. 9: Lake Waynoka for Brown/Adams County with 1-, 2- or 4-mile courses.

Each walk begins at 10 a.m., with registration at 9 a.m. Information: 281-4048.
