Fallen firefighter being honored
Cincinnati firefighter Oscar Armstrong III will be honored again for displaying heroism the day he died fighting a fire. Armstrong was chosen for the 2004 Ohio Fire Service Valor Award at a ceremony and dinner Wednesday in Reynoldsburg. District Chief Fred Prather of the Cincinnati Fire Department announced the award Monday. Armstrong, 25, was killed in March 2003 when a kitchen fire went out of control at a house in Bond Hill.
Charges filed after pedestrians struck
LEBANON - A Warren County grand jury has indicted a Dry Ridge man on five charges alleging he drove his sport-utility vehicle into three pedestrians - including a 10-year-old boy - in the parking lot of Paramount's Kings Island. An indictment made public Monday charges Jerry J. Bryan II, 31, with aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault, endangering children, failing to stop after an accident and driving under the influence of drugs. Police say Bryan drove his Chevrolet Blazer into Garrett Turner, 10, of Pendleton, Ind., and also hit Garrett's brother, Cole, 14, and their father, Randy, 40, on Aug. 15. Bryan remained jailed in Warren County in lieu of $1 million bond.
CORRECTION: Chesley's property tax about $132k
The annual property tax bill for the Indian Hill home purchased this month by lawyer Stan Chesley is about $132,000. A story in Monday's Local News section gave an incorrect figure.
