COLERAIN TOWNSHIP - Two Colerain Township residents received minor injuries after five people invaded a home in the 9800 block of Norcrest Drive and began fighting late Monday, police say.
Several residents were in the house when four men and one woman rushed in looking for a guest, Hamilton County sheriff's deputies said. The suspects and the guest began fighting, and one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired at the guest, deputies said.
The suspects and the guest - who was believed to have been shot in the arm - ran from the home.
Two residents were hurt in the fight. They were treated at Mercy Franciscan Hospital in Mount Airy and released.
19-year-old charged in stabbing of neighbor
UNION TWP. - Police arrested a 19-year-old man and charged him with attempted murder after another man was repeatedly stabbed early Tuesday morning.
Shortly after midnight, police responded to a call at Clough Corner Apartments, 4260 Mount Carmel-Tobasco Road in this Clermont County community.
Police said they found James Wooten, 25, inside his apartment stabbed at least 12 times in his head, chest, stomach, and back. He was in surgery Tuesday at University Hospital and was listed in serious condition.
Police arrested Justin L. Bailey, who lives in the same complex, and said they found two double-edged knives.
Police said the stabbing followed a several-day feud.
Bailey was being held in the Clermont County Jail.
2nd competency test ordered in attempted killings charges
HAMILTON - A Liberty Township man accused of twice trying to kill his wife was ordered Tuesday to undergo a second evaluation to determine his competency to stand trial.
Christopher Rezos, 35, was earlier deemed competent to stand trial, but his attorney asked for a second evaluation during a court hearing in Butler County Tuesday.
"We want to give our client the opportunity to have justice," said Jerry Bryant, Rezos' lawyer. "I believe that my client is entitled to a second opinion."
Rezos remains jailed in Butler County on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, felonious assault and aggravated burglary in attacks on his wife, Amy Rezos.
He has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Griffin was driving a 1983 Cadillac west on Harrison at the Interstate 74 overpass when he lost control and went off the right side of the road and hit the pillar, Hamilton County sheriff's deputies said. They said he was not wearing a seat belt.
