Hurricane Ivan postpones Louisville's game

Saturday's Louisville-Tulane game in New Orleans has been postponed because of the threat of Hurricane Ivan. The game is tentatively rescheduled for the weekend of Dec. 4 at the Superdome.
MINNESOTA: Quarterback Bryan Cupito, a McNicholas grad, said the Gophers, who clung to a 20-14 halftime lead Saturday before pulling away in the third quarter, didn't play with enough zeal in their 37-21 victory over Illinois State.
"I think it was a letdown all the way around, just because we didn't play well," said Cupito, who threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns but wasn't as effective as he had been a week earlier in a blowout win over Toledo in his first collegiate start. "We didn't have the emotions going."
RECEIVER IN COMA: Tennessee Tech wide receiver Drew Hixon, son of Washington Redskins assistant coach Stan Hixon, remained in a medically induced coma following a helmet-to-helmet collision that knocked his helmet off his head, university officials said.
EXTRA POINTS: Cornerback Isaiah Gardner has left Notre Dame and enrolled at Maryland . . . Nebraska center Richie Incognito has withdrawn from school after being suspended for the first two games.
