SYCAMORE TWP. - A Price Hill man is facing charges after Hamilton County sheriff's deputies say he arranged to have sex with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl he met over the Internet.
Scott E. Kerth, 27, is charged with two counts of importuning and one count of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Detectives say Kerth engaged in Internet conversations during a three-month investigation that included specific sexual comments. They said he subsequently arranged to meet the "girl" at a Sycamore Township intersection Monday evening, and was arrested when he showed up at the meeting place.
Kerth was being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center on $150,000 bond.
Since 2002, the Regional Electronic and Computer Investigations unit, a cooperative venture of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and the Cincinnati Police Department, has arrested more than 30 people for using the Internet to arrange sex with what they thought were teens.
