Kevin Taylor, 23, was pronounced dead in the Waynes Trace Road yard where the accident happened, Butler County Sheriff's deputies said.

Taylor was a passenger in the dune buggy in the front yard of 6180 Waynes Trace about 7:30 p.m. when the buggy turned onto its right side, ejecting him and trapping him under the vehicle. He suffered injuries to his torso and legs, deputies said.

The driver, who received only minor injuries, was able to exit the buggy.

The accident remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Office and the Butler County coroner.

Over 20 horses killed after truck overturns

LAWRENCEBURG - More than 20 horses were killed Wednesday afternoon when a tractor-trailer hauling about 60 of the animals overturned on Indiana 1, about four miles east of Lawrenceburg in Dearborn County.

The crash occurred about 1 p.m. and shut down the roadway for about 41/2 hours, said Indiana State Police.

Additional details of the crash were not immediately available Wednesday evening.

Man died in domestic dispute, police say

SARDINIA - A man was shot and killed Wednesday morning in what Brown County investigators think was a domestic shooting, police said.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Leslie E. McKibben, 37, of Winchester. The shooting occurred around 6:39 a.m. in the 9300 block of Katterman Road near Sardinia.

Authorities said Wednesday they were questioning people about the homicide but had not arrested anyone.

Preliminary investigation indicated the fatal wound was not self-inflicted, but authorities gave few other details.
