HOT TICKETS
48 Hour films: Tickets are on sale now for "The Best of Cincinnati's 48 Hour Film Project 2004" screening at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Madison Theater, 730 Madison Ave., Covington.
Six short movies - all made in a single weekend in August - will be honored in such categories as writing, cinematography and acting. One will be named best-of-show and will qualify to compete against 48 Hour Project winners from around the world at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March 2005 in Austin, Texas.
The program will also include audience favorites and several projects showing out of competition because they were not completed by the deadline.

St. John meet and greet: Violinist Lara St. John, who opens the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra's 30th anniversary season on Sunday, will be signing her CD, re: Bach, at Barnes & Noble, Kenwood at 3 p.m. Saturday. Line numbers will be available starting at noon.
At 2 p.m., St. John will meet with young musicians for a question-and-answer session at Barnes & Noble. Both events are free and open to the public.
The Chamber Orchestra concerts are 3 p.m. Sunday in Corbett Auditorium, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and 7:30 p.m. Monday, Greaves Hall at Northern Kentucky University. For tickets or CD signing information call (513) 723-1182.
Pipes no longer silent: An unusual pipe organ will make its debut in a dedicatory recital, 7 p.m. Sunday , at St. Anne Episcopal Church, West Chester Township. Pipes salvaged from the organs of three closed or fire-damaged churches were collected over 15 years and erected into a new, 1,500-pipe organ with three manuals (keyboards). Dr. Bryan Mock, director of music at Christ Church, Glendale, will perform the recital, followed by a reception. Free. (513) 779-1139.
Pridonoff kicks off season: Pianist Eugene Pridonoff will kick off the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's concert season at 8 p.m. Monday in Robert Werner Recital Hall. Pridonoff will play some of the great classics of the piano repertoire, including Schubert's Impromptu in B-flat Major and Beethoven's Appassionata Sonata, Op. 57 . The CCM prof was named International Steinway Artist last March. The concert is free. (513) 556-4183.
