Fiorini home sold for $365,000
The Miami Township home of convicted swindler George Fiorini changed hands in a foreclosure sale conducted Thursday by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. Fiorini had defaulted on the mortgage loan long ago for his 13-acre home at 7641 Wesselman Road, but had used federal bankruptcy protection to hang on to it. Fiorini's wife, Vicki, filed a new bankruptcy petition late Wednesday in an effort to forestall the sale, but the case was dismissed Thursday morning by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge J. Vincent Aug Jr. A developer won the auction with a bid of $365,000. A federal prosecutor said there will be no money available for Fiorini's fraud victims after the mortgages are paid off.
