AVONDALE - The only things bigger than Florence Myrick's trademark smile were her heart and her love for God and family.
Mrs. Myrick died of kidney failure Wednesday at Deaconess Hospital. She was 83.
"Aunt Florence constantly had a smile on her face and was full of laughter," said Deborah Miller, a niece. "She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved her."
Mrs. Myrick was born Feb. 25, 1921 in Indianapolis. She worked most of her life as a housekeeper.
She was a devout member for 30 years of Morningstar Baptist Church, where she participated in the Women's Ministry.
Miller said Mrs. Myrick loved her church and her family.
Survivors include her husband Cleveland Myrick; five sons, James Winston, David Winston, Alfred Duncan, Cleveland Myrick Jr. and Curtis Myrick; two daughters, Sufronia Cameron and Annie Moore; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon at Morningstar Baptist Church, 722 Oak St. Interment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Thompson Hall & Jordan Funeral Home.
