Klink to discuss Lakota's levy request

LIBERTY TWP. - Lakota Superintendent Kathleen Klink will meet with residents at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Elementary School, 6040 Princeton Road, to answer questions about the 7.7-mill combination levy on the Nov. 2 ballot.

Taxes would increase $236 annually on a $100,000 house.

Homecoming Oct. 2 at Little Miami High

HAMILTON TWP. - Little Miami High School's homecoming dance is Oct. 2.

Members of Save Our Students, a coalition of police officers, firefighters and school officials, will be at Friday's 7:30 p.m. homecoming football game spreading the message of safe driving.

Chili supper part of homecoming events

ROSS TWP. - A 7 p.m. bonfire and pep rally will kick off Homecoming 2004 Wednesday at Ross High School, 3425 Hamilton-Cleves Road.

The high school band boosters will host the annual chili supper in the cafeteria after 5 p.m. Friday.

Warren preschool has afternoon slots

LEBANON - Learning Lab Preschool at the Warren County Career Center has afternoon openings for children ages 3-5.

Anti-levy group offers signs, sales

FAIRFIELD - "Vote no" levy signs will be distributed this weekend by a group opposed to the 4.9-mill levy the Fairfield Board of Education has put on the Nov. 2 ballot.

Citizens for Accountability and Results in Education - CARE - will distribute signs at Founders Park, corner of Nilles Road and Hicks Boulevard, from 1-3 p.m. today; and at the corner of Morris Road and Dust Commander Drive Sunday, from 1-3 p.m.

Residents can buy anti-levy T-shirts and sign petitions asking the board to reinstate busing. Information: 829-7840 or 939-0855.

Pro-levy group organizes silent march

FAIRFIELD - A group of Fairfield mothers is supporting the 4.9-mill levy the Fairfield Board of Education has put on the Nov. 2 ballot.

Moms On a Mission - MOM - formed earlier this week, in part to counter information being distributed by an anti-levy group.

The group is holding a silent march today, open to the community. It will meet at the middle school parking lot at 12:30 p.m. and walk to Founders Park. There, the anti-levy group CARE plans to distribute signs from 1-3 p.m.
