Dayton wins its 100th Division 1-AA game, 40-0
Area colleges roundup
The Associated Press
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Jason Resch kicked four field goals - his longest 38 yards - to help top-ranked Dayton (3-1) shut out winless Austin Peay 40-0 Saturday
The victory was Dayton's 100th as an NCAA Division I-AA team. Since I-AA non-scholarship football began in 1993, the Flyers are 100-24. The next closest is Duquesne with 73 wins.
UD also extended its road winning streak to 10 games. It was the 315th straight game the Flyers have not been shut out.
The Flyers had a total of 253 yards rushing, compared to 34 for the Governors (0-4).
UD quarterback Brandon Staley was 12-of-16 passing for 123 yards. Ron Wrobleski led all Dayton receivers with 99 yards.
Westminster 23, Thomas More 13
The Saints (1-3) came up short at Thomas More Stadium. Unlike last year's shootout that saw the teams combine for more than 1,200 yards of offense, this game was decided in the trenches.
Thomas More rushed for 149 yards, while the Titans gained 300 yards on the ground.
Thomas More travels to Huntingdon (Ala.) College next week.
B.-Wallace 31, Wilmington 7
WILMINGTON, Ohio - Mike Diangelo tossed two touchdown passes, and Jake Knipp returned an interception 40 yards for another score in Baldwin-Wallace's victory over Wilmington (1-2, 1-1 Ohio Conference). The Yellow Jackets (3-0, 2-0) scored three times in 42 seconds of the second quarter to break open a scoreless tie.
Hanover 34, Waynesburg 31
HANOVER, Ind. - Andrew Padgett's 1-yard touchdown plunge with 12 seconds left gave Hanover (1-3) a come-from-behind win over Waynesburg (3-1).
Hanover's Greg Gogel completed 16 of 27 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns.
