Three Rivers district seeks to replace treasurer

CLEVES - The Three Rivers Local School District is searching for a treasurer to replace Scott Hiles, whose resignation is effective Friday.
Hiles, who spent four years with the district, is leaving to become treasurer of Wyoming City Schools. Hiles' salary was $77,197.
His resignation comes at a time when the district wants to pass a five-year emergency operations levy. Assistant Superintendent Mark Ault said Hiles will continue to work part-time for the district and oversee the campaign until a replacement is found.
Ault said the district has no timetable for its search but hopes to have a new treasurer in place soon.
Friday to be spirit day at Kings High School
DEERFIELD TWP. - Kings High School students will wear red, white and blue Friday for Homecoming Week's spirit day.
The football team takes on Norwood at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Activities end Saturday with a dance at the Este Conference Center, 6270 Este Lane. Tickets are $10 each and can be bought at school through Friday. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
Mount Healthy plans homecoming parade
MOUNT HEALTHY - Homecoming activities for Mount Healthy High School will begin at noon Saturday with a parade from the board of education office, 7615 Harrison Ave., to the athletic fields. Kickoff against Woodward High School is set for 1:30 p.m.
A dance will be from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday, at the school. Tickets are $5 each and can be bought at school. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
Amelia classes build scarecrows for festival
AMELIA - Fourth-graders at Amelia Elementary School have been creating scarecrows to be displayed at the Cincinnati Flower & Farm Fest at Coney Island the weekends of Oct. 2-3 and 9-10.
The scarecrows can be viewed today at the school, 5 E. Main St., before they are taken to Coney.
Ribbon-cutting today for Orion Academy
FAIRMOUNT - Orion Academy, a charter school operated by National Heritage Academies, will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. today at 1798 Queen City Ave., in the former St. Bonaventure School building. Orion opens this fall and has a capacity of 450 students in grades K-5.

Christian academy presents 'Our Town'
SYMMES TWP. - Thornton Wilder's Our Town will be presented by the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lindner Fine Arts Theatre, 11525 Snider Road.
Tickets, $6, can be reserved by calling (513) 247-9944; ext. 805. The play is recommended for children fourth grade and older.
Private school fair Monday at Xavier
EVANSTON - A private school fair will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at the Schiff Family Conference Center, Cintas Center at Xavier University, to showcase more than 30 private schools in Greater Cincinnati.
This event is open to the public and is hosted by Cincinnati Country Day School, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, Seven Hills School, and Summit Country Day School.
Participants will learn about admission requirements, the tuition assistance process, program offerings and other information.

Madeira chili supper to help music boosters
MADEIRA - The Madeira Music Boosters will have its first chili supper 5-7 p.m. Friday in the Madeira Junior/Senior High School cafeteria, 7465 Loannes Drive. Chili and a bake sale will be offered before the home football game. It will also be Band Night, with all Madeira band students playing before the game.
