Man dies while driving ATV illegally on road
The Enquirer
BETHEL - A 36-year-old man died in this Clermont County community Thursday night after the four-wheel Yamaha ATV he was illegally driving slid off the road and struck a utility pole.

He was less than a mile from his home. The ATV he was riding is not intended or legal for roadway use, the patrol said.
Three homes evacuated after gas main break
ANDERSON TWP. - A gas main break temporarily evacuated four residents from three homes and closed a road Friday, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported, and the residents were moved to a church.
The gas leak occurred about 10:37 a.m. in the 7100 block of Dunn Road when a worker with Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati dug into a Cinergy gas line with a backhoe, Anderson Township Fire Chief Mark Ober said.
The gas was turned off at 11:40 a.m. and repairs were completed by 1 p.m., a Cinergy spokeswoman said.

President celebrates year
It's a weekend of anniversaries at the University of Cincinnati. A year ago Friday, Nancy Zimpher became the University of Cincinnati's first female president, overseeing its ongoing massive changes in look and substance. The college is transitioning from a commuter school to a more traditional, residential school. It opened several buildings designed to improve student life on campus, including the expanded Tangeman University Center, the Joseph A. Steger Student Life Center and a new baseball stadium. This weekend, UC's College of Engineering's aerospace program celebrates being the second-oldest aeronautical/aerospace engineering program in the nation - and the only program to be chaired by a woman. Events celebrating its 75th anniversary began on Friday and continue today.
