Coretta Scott King will speak at 8 p.m. Oct. 20 in Miami University's Millett Hall.
Her topic is "Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere: Civil Rights and the Problems of Inclusion."
As the wife of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., she raised their four children and joined her husband on demonstrations throughout the South.
After the assassination of her husband in 1968, King founded the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change as a living memorial to his life and dream.
Born and raised in Alabama, King received a bachelor's degree in music and education from Antioch College and a degree in voice and violin from Boston's New England Conservatory of Music.
She has traveled the globe speaking on racial and economic justice, women's and children's rights, gay and lesbian dignity, religious freedom and nuclear disarmament.
Her talk is open to the public. Free tickets are available through the box office at Shriver Center.
