A real estate industry Web site in Northern Kentucky will continue to carry listings of homes for sale in a 12-county region on the south bank of the Ohio River.
The board of directors of the Northern Kentucky Multiple Listing Service has voted not to change nkar.com. The site allows people to see homes for sale, check prices and view real estate firms' listings.
Cheery Malone, president of the Northern Kentucky MLS, said Wednesday the vote was taken in August after the board received a letter from an unidentified member asking that the listings be eliminated.
"We did not feel any need to change our public Web site," Malone said.
The Northern Kentucky MLS is a division of the Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors. Its listings include property in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties.
Last week, the Greater Cincinnati MLS board said it will remove listings from its site, cincymls.com, which for eight years carried listings of homes for sale in Southwestern Ohio and a portion of Southeast Indiana.
Starting Jan. 1, cincymls.com users instead will have to visit one of 58 local real estate broker Web sites to view all the listings. A group of Realtors is seeking a referendum to try to overturn the decision, saying small brokers will lose competitive footing.
