'Apprentice' men outlasting women

By Lauren Bishop
Enquirer staff writer

Last week on The Apprentice 2, Team Apex ended up in the boardroom for the third straight week after the restaurant they opened served up lousy service and decor. With Apex down another member - former project manager Jennifer C. - Pamela leaves the men of Team Mosaic to join the women as both teams sell products live on QVC (9 p.m. Channels 5, 2).

Aaron Baba, 42, Reading: It seems that when you think you can predict the contestant that is most likely to be booted out, someone else displays an aspect of their personality that is inimical to the success of any business operations - like the insensitive remarks by Jennifer C. about the two ladies that led to her exit. Elizabeth, a former Procter & Gamble employee, seems to be cracking under the pressure of this contest. If the Apex team loses the next task, she could be one of the three or so that would be invited back to the boardroom. The Mosaic team has done very well so far, avoiding a recall to the boardroom. But Pamela and Andy still strike me as the weakest on the Mosaic team.

Doug Browning, 35, Anderson Township: The theme for the week and show is leadership, and it was apparent that Jennifer C. lacked it. I would have fired her the last time she sat in the boardroom. Although it's difficult, you have to be able to get everyone to produce and work as a team even though they all have their own agenda. I disagree with Bill Rancic's comment stating that this is not a game. Sandy's decision to fire Jennifer C. proves it is a game. Jennifer M. has been the strongest on Apex. Will the men act like the women when they head to the boardroom? I suspect they will because there's a lot of money on the line.

Brooke Goode, 34, Milford: It was refreshing to see the men use their sexuality in the restaurant task ... I'll have the No. 3 with a side of John! Most of the women are shameless and should come with warning labels on their personalities! I get embarrassed for them! If their schoolgirl behavior continues, no one is going to hire them after the show. Wes is going to be working for Trump.

Nicole McWhorter, 30, Clifton: Remember when I said that when you tried to get someone else fired, it will usually backfire? Well, it might have happened on last week's show, but last night was the cherry on my sundae! Jennifer C. got exactly what she deserved! How sad is it when you chose "friendship" over business, which is what Jennifer C. did. I call this payback for Stacie J.! I think that it will be another woman to get the axe next week unless Pamela can get them to focus on business and leave the personal stuff at the suite.
