The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati hosted its fourth annual dinner gala featuring "Argentina: the Great Opportunity."
Event chair Antonio Muñiz-Olán, the chamber's second vice president, welcomed more than 400 guests to downtown's Millennium Hotel and introduced guest of honor and keynote speaker Jose Octavio Bordón, ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the United States.
Cincinnati Mayor Charlie Luken extended appreciation to the ambassador.
Freshman scholarships were presented to Maria Gracia Moreno, Northern Kentucky University, and Veronica Bonnema, Miami University.
This year's Hispanic Leadership Award was presented to Fernando Aguirre, chairman, president and CEO of Chiquita Brands International.
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce president Roberto P. Peraza thanked supporters, including Chiquita Brands International, Cinergy Corp., Darden Restaurants, Delta Air Lines, Federated Department Stores, Frost Brown Todd LLC and GE Aircraft Engines.
