The Black Lawyers Association of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Bar Association Round Table will honor local leaders at an awards dinner Thursday night at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati.
The Forward Together Awards are designed to celebrate efforts to promote racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession.
The honorees are Harry Santen (individual category); Joseph Tomain (education), GE Transportation (corporate) and the Ohio Attorney General's Office (public institutions).
Retired Judge Robert L. Black Jr. of the Ohio 1st District Court of Appeals and retired Judge Nathaniel Jones of the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals will receive special awards in recognition of their 18 years of leadership in the organization. Both were co-founders of the Round Table.
U.S. Magistrate Timothy Black and Judge John Andrew West of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas will be inaugurated as incoming co-conveners of the Round Table.
