Ringing bells today further awareness
Church bells will ring at noon today in support of breast cancer victims. Kentucky's First Lady Glenna Fletcher and the St. Elizabeth Women's Wellness Center have asked that church bells ring across the state for the fifth annual "Bells for Hope and Remembrance." The goal is to increase awareness of the importance of early detection, and as a sign of solidarity among people who have been diagnosed with the disease.
Camp Ernst holds third charity ride
BURLINGTON - The YMCA's Camp Ernst in Burlington is holding its third annual charity horseback ride this weekend. The rides will go through the camp's 400 acres. No experience is needed, but children must be at least 9 years old. The rides, which cost $25, start every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are required and can be made until this afternoon by calling (859) 586-6181. Proceeds go to the YMCA Camp Ernst Ranch Program, where 2,500 children ride each year.The camp is at 7615 Camp Ernst Road.
