Third teen arrested in Royal Crown fire
SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP - A third teenager has been charged with starting a fire earlier this week at the former Royal Crown Hotel and Convention Center that caused $350,000 in damage.
The 15-year-old boy's mother brought him to Hamilton County Sheriff's patrol headquarters in Colerain Township about 9 p.m. Wednesday, said agency spokesman Steve Barnett.
The teen was charged with aggravated arson and was held Thursday at the county juvenile-detention center.
He joined two 16-year-old boys taken there Wednesday on the same charges of setting the Reading Road hotel on fire.
Woman charged in husband's killing
Alaura Bishop of Hamilton was held without bond at the Butler County Jail after a grand jury indicted her.
In November 2003, she reported to police her husband, Elmer Bishop Jr., 21, shot himself in the head in a mobile home in the 5500 block of Liberty-Fairfield Rd. in Fairfield Township. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital.
But an autopsy at the Hamilton County Coroner's Office revealed the gunshot wound could not possibly have been self-inflicted, said Fairfield Township police Detective Doug Lanier.
