Police use Taser in parking struggle
CLIFTON - Cincinnati police said they used a Taser to subdue a 19-year-old Columbus-area woman who struggled with an officer writing a traffic ticket.
Jessica M. Battle of Gahanna faces charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business, both misdemeanors, following her arrest early Friday. She is to appear in Hamilton County Municipal Court today.
The incident happened at about 2:45 a.m. Friday at the White Castle restaurant on Central Parkway.
Police said Battle began to drive a vehicle in reverse as an officer was ticketing her for parking in a handicapped space. Officers said Battle stopped the vehicle after repeatedly being ordered to stop, but then got out and tried to walk away.
An officer grabbed her arm and she "began yanking her arms away in an attempt to escape," a report says. Officers said they warned Battle they would use a Taser if she continued to resist.
