LOVELAND - School officials said they'll do everything they can to make sure the district doesn't lose money in a special tax agreement being negotiated with the city to help economic development.
"That's (the city's) intention and our intention," Superintendent Kevin Boys told board members this week. "Can we guarantee that? I'd stop short of saying that."
Discussions continue with the city, which plans to create a tax increment financing district to help revitalize historic downtown.
Board member Dr. James Kolp said Tuesday evening that some residents are worried that the schools will get the short end.
City officials plan to create the district Nov. 23, and will hold a public hearing at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
