2 teens OK after crash in Independence

The Enquirer

INDEPENDENCE - A Loveland teen remained in fair condition Friday at University Hospital after a single-car crash earlier in the week.

Jason Carnine, who turned 17 Friday, was driving a white 1996 Mazda MX-6 Wednesday evening in southern Kenton County when he lost control and hit a tree.

The wreck happened at a curve in the road when the payment was wet, according to a Kenton County police report. The car went across the lawn and driveway of a home at 3347 Moffett Road before hitting the tree.

A passenger in the vehicle, 15-year-old Stephanie Mueller of Independence, was treated at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, according to police. A hospital spokesman said Friday there was no patient there listed by that name.

Kenton County police spokesman said Friday that a cause of the wreck had not yet been determined, and the case remained under investigation.
