Phelps earns another toy
U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps stole the show at the Athens Games, winning eight medals, including six golds. Phelps, 19, has turned pro but will begin classes at Michigan in January. In the meantime, he's enjoying his newfound fame and its spoils.
Phelps said his mother, Debbie, allows him to buy "a new toy" each time he breaks a world record. His most recent purchase is a Range Rover. It's parked next to his souped-up 2000 Cadillac Escalade with spinning rims, TV sets in the dash and headrests, DVD player, X-Box and sub-woofers. "You can't exactly play country music in that car," Phelps said, laughing.
