Butler County issues
Here are the issues on the Nov. 2 ballot. "Raises" indicates the amount of money the tax would generate each year; "cost" is what the tax would mean annually to the owner of a $100,000 home.
Countywide issues
Mental Health: 0.5-mill, 10-year renewal levy. Raises: $2 million. Cost: Remains $7.
Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities: 1-mill continuing levy to replace two 0.5-mill levies. Raises: $7.1 million. Cost: $30.
School issues
Edgewood: 6.9-mill continuing operating levy. Raises: $2.5 million. Cost: $211.
Fairfield: 4.9-mill continuing operating levy. Raises: $6.4 million: Cost: $150.
Lakota: 7.7-mill combination levy for new schools, expansions and operations. Raises: $80.3 million (total) for construction; $12.4 million a year for operations. Cost: $236.
Madison: 0.5 percent income tax for operations. Raises: $740,000. Cost: Varies by income.
Monroe: 6-mill, five-year renewal of emergency levy. Raises: $1.5 million. Cost: No increase.
Ross: 0.5 percent income tax. Raises: $1.2 million. Cost: Varies by income.
Talawanda: 1 percent income tax for day-to-day operations. Raises: $3.9 million. Cost: Varies by income.
Municipal issues
College Corner: 5.5-mill continuing levy for street repairs. Cost: $168.
Middletown: Increase earnings tax from 1.5 percent to 1.75 percent, for capital improvements and roads. Raises: $3 million. Cost: Varies by income.
Monroe: Increase earnings tax from 1 percent to 1.5 percent. Raises: $1.5 million. Cost: Varies by income.
Seven Mile: 2.69-mill, five-year renewal levy for operating expenses. Raises: $13,403. Cost: Remains $34.
Trenton: 1.5-mill, five-year replacement fire levy. Raises: $213,724. Cost: $45.
Trenton: Charter amendment to restore 1.5 percent income tax credit (cut to 1 percent by council earlier this year), and to allow residents to vote on any future income tax changes. Cost: City would lose $350,000 annually if full credit restored.
Wayne Twp.: 1.3-mill, three-year fire levy. Raises: $91,719. Cost: $39.
