Singh is on verge of $10M season
Enquirer staff and wire reports
Vijay Singh made a 30-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole Saturday to take the third-round lead in the Chrysler Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla., the PGA Tour's final full-field tournament of the year. Singh recovered from two early bogeys for a 4-under 67 and led at 12-under 201, one shot better than Tommy Armour III. Singh has won five times in seven starts, and he has won 10 straight tournaments when at least sharing the 54-hole lead. A victory today would be his ninth of the season and make him the first $10 million winner in golf.
NATIONWIDE TOUR: Oak Hills High graduate Brett Wetterich was tied for fourth at 10-under 206 after 54 holes, two strokes behind co-leaders Nick Watney and Justin Bolli.
LPGA TOUR: Kate Golden rolled in a long eagle putt on 18 for a bogey-free 8-under 64 and shared the lead with Grace Park after two rounds of the CJ Nine Bridges Classic in South Korea.
