KEY RACES & ISSUES
State Issue 1: Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and prohibiting public domestic-partner benefits for any unmarried couple.
Cincinnati Article XII repeal: Also known as Issue 3; voters will decide whether City Council can pass a law protecting gays and lesbians from discrimination.
Hamilton County prosecutor: Sex scandal involving Mike Allen results in unprecedented campaign between two write-in candidates, Joe Deters and Fanon Rucker.
Hamilton County commissioner: Two seats will be decided.
Hamilton County coroner: Incumbent Dr. Carl Parrott facing strong challenge from Democrat Dr. O'dell Owens.
Drake Center levy: Approval of levy would raise taxes only slightly, but critics have focused on rehab center's spending.
Ohio Supreme Court: Three seats contested; one is unopposed.
10 school issues: Renewal of Cincinnati Public Schools' $65 million operating levy won't raise taxes, but is controversial because it has lost support of two school board members and some community groups. Nine other school districts in Hamilton and Clermont counties are seeking operating levies worth tens of millions of dollars.
Clermont County: Voters choose a county commissioner and decide two school levies and nine local funding issues.
