Time changes for court meeting
INDEPENDENCE - Tuesday's meeting of Kenton County Fiscal Court will be at 7 p.m., not 9 a.m., at the courthouse on 5272 Madison Pike.
Boone County meeting canceled
BURLINGTON - The Nov. 16 meeting of Boone County Fiscal Court is canceled. The next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 23 in the Boone County Administration Building, 2950 Washington Ave.
Emergency shelter having fund-raiser
COVINGTON - "Share the Warmth," the second annual fund-raiser for the Northern Kentucky Emergency Cold Shelter, 1205 Maryland Ave., will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at The Point Restaurant, 620 Scott St. The evening will feature appetizers, refreshments, entertainment, silent auction and cash bar. Learn natural-style holiday decorating
BURLINGTON - The Northern Kentucky Herb Society and interior designer/herbalist Diane Ackemyer will offer decorating tips using fruits and herbs for wreaths and garlands from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Boone County Extension Office, 6028 Camp Ernst Road. Voices sought on land-use plan
Residents interested in growth and development in Boone County can attended a workshop Wednesday to help guide the county's growth.The Boone County Planning Commission is seeking comments about the county's comprehensive land use plan. From 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Room C of the Florence Government Center, citizens can fill out a questionnaire. The county is updating plans for development in the next 25 years. The current plan can be seen at www.boonecountyky.org.
Comedy show helps firefighters
Half the money raised from a comedy show Monday at Funny Bone Comedy Club at Newport on the Levee will be donated to the New York City firefighters fund. Beginning at 8 p.m., two comedians from Cincinnati and two from New York City will perform in "Comics for FDNY." Cost: $10 in advance or at the door. Call (859) 957-2000 for tickets.
Church supports military families
Erlanger Baptist Church, 116 Commonwealth Ave., invites Northern Kentucky families with loved ones in the military for a "Celebration of Support" at 7 p.m. Nov. 20. To have a family member included in the recognition call (859) 727-2588 by Nov. 15 or e-mail info@ebclife.com.
National Lutheran conference coming
The 22nd annual Lutherans for Life National Conference will be at the Holiday Inn at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport the weekend of Nov. 12-14. Guest speakers on Friday and Saturday afternoon will address topics such as: "After the Election, Now What?"
The group's online site, www.lutheransforlife.org, lists the workshop as, "What progress can be made in the next four years in regard to the protection of human life? What should be the priorities of the national pro-life movement? What legislative opportunities will be available?"
Other workshops include: "Marriage, Not Romance: God's Plan," "Our Greatest Pro-life Asset: Mobilizing Our Youth" and "Enhancing Human Beings Through Genetics?"
