Beauty has arrived at Kohl's department stores in a big way. Three ways, actually.
American Beauty, Good Skin and Flirt - spinoffs of the famed 58-year-old cosmetics company Estee Lauder - are available at budget prices at the Kohl's counter.
American Beauty illustrates that gorgeous isn't reserved for the French, sultry is not exclusively Italian. In fact, a great American beauty is classic elegance and natural radiance as personified by the brand's "face," Kentuckian Ashley Judd.
The line of 35 products in more than 150 shades includes makeup, skin care, bath and body products. Prices range from $13 for a lipstick to $27 for face serum. www.americanbeautycosmetics.com.
Good Skin was formulated by Doris Day (not that one), a New York dermatologist and soccer mom, to fit eight types of skin, not just your basic dry, normal or oily. "Cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate" is the mantra. Prices: $7-$25. www.goodskindermcare.com.
Flirt is all about fun - fun in 250 shades and more than 270 items, including lip and nail colors created by singer Michelle Branch. There are Chicksticks for the cheeks at $10 in 31 shades, Squeeze Me lip gloss in 24 shades at $10, Opening Line liquid eyeliner in eight shades for $11 and Look of Love eye pencil in 16 shades at $9. www.flirtcosmetics.com.
