Downtown's Hyatt Regency was the location for the Health Improvement Collaborative Dinner held by the Health Alliance of Cincinnati Behavioral Services.
Lynn Olman, executive director of the collaborative and president of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council, introduced the evening's featured speaker, actress Patty Duke. Duke's award-winning book A Brilliant Madness discusses the actress's battle with bipolar illness. (Duke underwent single heart bypass surgery Wednesday in Idaho.)
WCPO-TV anchor Carol Williams was emcee. Dr. Nick Baird was awarded this year's Friend of the Collaborative Award. Marcia Swehla, administrative director of Women's Services, TriHealth Inc., presented Volunteer Leadership Awards to Chuck Schlegel, Dr. Roslyn G. Kade, Dr. Edward F. Donovan and Dr. Sue Weinstein.
Nearly 600 guests purchased $175-$250 tickets for the dinner, which will benefit a variety of health improvement initiatives, including early detection and treatment of depression.
