Delta adds flight to Honolulu
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Delta Air Lines Thursday announced it would launch a daily flight to and from Honolulu beginning Nov. 1.
The approximately 10-hour flight will be aboard a 285-seat Boeing 767-400. Honolulu will be one of the first large jet major destinations added from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport since the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
The flight will leave Cincinnati at 1 p.m. and arrive in Honolulu at 11:25 p.m. Eastern time, or 5:25 p.m. local time in Honolulu.
The airline also said it would be offering a special introductory fare on the flight for $549 round trip for tickets purchased 21 days in advance. Travel must be completed by Dec. 15 and travel is restricted to certain weekdays.
In other news, Delta and its new domestic partners Continental and Northwest Airlines announced they would begin redeeming frequent flyer awards on each other's networks on July 15. That means that someone who earned a free ticket on Delta's system can redeem it for travel on a Continental or Northwest flight, if that is the destination that is desired. The airlines have already begun awarding frequent flyer miles for each other's programs for travel on all the carriers.
