The telecast of Saturday's football game between the Miami University and the University of Cincinnati in Oxford has been cancelled due to the strike by custodial, food service and maintenance workers that began on the Miami campus today.
The 108th meeting of the two rivals was scheduled to be telecast by ESPN Plus and shown locally on WSTR-TV (Channel 64). Mike Harris, Miami's sports information director, said the telecast was cancelled late Thursday night - before the determination of the strike due - to the uncertain nature of the labor agreement between Miami and its unionized employees.
Harris said that Miami, ESPN Plus and Channel 64 would work together to find a replacement game to be televised. The Miami-UC game will be broadcast on WCKY-AM (1360) and WMOH-AM (1450).
Tickets are still available for the game at 513-529-4295 or at MURedHawks.com.
