2000 PREP FOOTBALL COVERAGE
Cincinnati football all-star team
Selecting The Enquirer's Division I Player of the Year was tougher than usual. So we selected two - from the same school.
Division I team | Divisions II-VI team

N.Ky. football all-star team
By the end of the 2000 football season, Highlands senior Brett Hamblen was playing with both physical and emotional pain.

Highlands wins third straight state title
LOUISVILLE — It wasn't until Gino Guidugli looked at the trophy that he decided which Kentucky Class AAA football title was nicest.

Title thrills Highlands fans
LOUISVILLE - A state football championship is what the Highlands Bluebirds fans expect each year but never take for granted.

NewCath runs out of miracles
LOUISVILLE Newport Central Catholic reached Friday's Class A football championship with four straight road wins, but Danville made sure there wouldn't be a fifth.

NewCath fans make best of loss
LOUISVILLE — Call it Little Newport. That's what the bleachers at the old Cardinal Stadium were transformed into here on Friday as Newport Central Catholic High School fell 23-9 to Danville High School in the Class A division football championship game.

Locals go home empty-handed again
Cincinnati's drought of Ohio football titles continues. After a decade that saw only one Cincinnati school win a title, the city won't be represented in the state football finals last weekend as a result of Colerain (Division I) and Reading (Division V) losing semifinal games Saturday.
