Northern Kentucky's top players




        • Cole Chadwick, Covington Catholic, Sr., RB, 6-0, 185, rushed for 1,677 yards and 17 TDs in 1998; injured much of last year.

        • James Delaney, Bellevue, Sr., RB, 5-9, 165, rushed for 1,394 yards and 13 TDs last year.

        • Steve Everson, Newport Central Catholic, Jr., RB, 6-1, 180, rushed for 1,811 yards and 15 TDs last year.

        • Travis Grant, Ryle, Jr., RB, 6-0, 170, rushed for 1,111 yards last year but is coming back from knee surgery.

        • Brent Grover, Highlands, Sr., LB/TE, 6-4, 243, preseason All-American; 157 tackles, 31 catches last year.

        • Gino Guidugli, Highlands, Sr., QB, 6-5, 210, threw for 3,030 yards and 39 TDs last year.

        • Brett Hamblen, Highlands, Sr., DB/WR, 6-1, 195, 1,355 yards receiving, 23 TDs, 10 interceptions.

        • Timmy King, Boone County, Sr., RB/LB, 5-11, 195, rushed for 1,697 yards and 21 TDs in 7 1/2 games last year.

        • Daniel Morrison, Simon Kenton, Sr., RB/DB, 5-9, 167, led Pioneers with 1,053 rushing yards last season.

        • Mike Nie, Beechwood, Sr., QB/LB, 6-2, 189, threw for 861 yards and seven TDs last year for state champs.

        • Ben Scott, Highlands, Sr., DL, 6-4, 232, team's sacks leader; first-team all-state; committed to Kentucky.

        • Nick Sketch, Beechwood, Sr., RB/LB, 6-1, 183, rushed for 879 yards (6.1 avg.) and nine TDs last year.

        • Rob Smith, Highlands, Jr., OL/DL, 6-5, 290, named one of Kentucky's Top 50 players in preseason coaches poll.
