BANDVernon McIntyre & Appalachian Grass Led by one of the founders of the Cincinnati bluegrass scene, Appalachian Grass holds to the traditional style of bluegrass. Regular gigs: Saturday nights at Famous Old Time Music Company and at area festivals. Most recent CD: Lonely Hearts Cafe. Katie Laur Band Fronted by the first lady of Cincinnati bluegrass, the KLB does it all, from mellow country ballads to harmonious gospel to breakneck breakdowns. Regular gigs: Katie's been concentrating on her writing (prose, not songs), so the KLB has been on hiatus this winter. Look for the band to get busy in the spring. Katie sings Tuesday nights at Rosie's Tavern, in a trio with country swing/bluegrass guitarist Terry Boswell and Katie Laur Band singer/fiddler/mandolinist Jeff Terflinger. Most recent CD: Main Street. Ohio Valley Rounders Equally adept at classic bluegrass as well as smoother contemporary stylings, the Rounders are a longtime local favorite. Regular gigs: Arnold's, the Comet and area festivals.
Most recent CD: At It Again (out of print). |
