BANDBlue Birds Available in several shades of blue, including a big horn band Sundays at Allyn's and a leaner meaner flock at their weekend gigs, the Blue Birds soar from funky R&B to raw blues. Sonny Moorman Group From acoustic blues to ZZ Top-of-the-line boogie-rock, Mr. Moorman's band takes on all comers. Regular gigs: Burbank's Real Bar-B-Q and lots of road work. Most recent CD: Telegraph Road. Greg Schaber & High Street The rhythm-rockin' band has been stripped down to a trio, but it's more popular than ever, with lead man Mr. Schaber moved from acoustic Delta sounds to swinging jump blues and razor-sharp originals. Regular gigs: Arnold's (tonight), York Street Cafe (Saturday), Rosie's, Allyn's and other local spots. Most recent CD: Gypsy Moon, coming out April 3. INSTRUMENTALISTSonny Moorman A blues-rock guitarist in the Lonnie Mack tradition, Sonny commands the spotlight on either acoustic or electric. Regular gigs: Burbank's Real Bar-B-Q. Most recent CD: Telegraph Road. Kelly Richey Her new album showcases her voice, but live she's a take-no-prisoners guitar slinger. Regular gigs: Rick's Tavern (tonight), East End Cafe (Saturday), Allyn's, Jefferson Hall, Shady O'Grady's and the Brew Works. Most recent CD: Eyes of a Woman. Greg Schaber From sinewy slide to jumping swing, the High Street front man is all over the blues. Regular gigs: Arnold's (tonight ), York Street Cafe (Saturday), Rosie's, Allyn's and other local spots. Most recent CD: Gypsy Moon, coming out April 3. VOCALISTSweet Alice Hoskins The big-voiced, blues-belting leader of Unfinished Business never fails to rock the house. Regular gigs: Sweet Alice can be found at festivals and at most of the area's blues-oriented spots, including Burbank's Real Bar-B-Q. Most recent CD: Comin' Home to the Blues. Rick ''Bam'' Powell He's done it all, from rock to country, but he's an R&B singer at heart and takes it to the river with the Blue Birds. Regular gigs: Sundays at Allyn's and regular dates at RBC. Most recent CD: Argentina. Greg Schaber The triple threat of High Street sings, writes and plays guitar.
