Graveblankets

• Winners of the 1997 folk band Cammy, the Graveblankets have kept busy, releasing one of last year's best albums by an area group.

Regular gigs: On hiatus while guitarist George Cunningham recuperates from heart surgery, the 'blankets return April 15 at Kaldi's.

Most recent CD: Apple Plum Blood Pudding.

Silver Arm

• Cincinnati's long-running Silver Arm was Celtic before Celtic was cool. Now featuring a newly expanded lineup.

Regular gigs: R.P. McMurphy's and Nicholson's on St. Patrick's Day.

Most Recent CD: The Beech Tree is set for release in late April.

Uncle Daddy & the Family Secret

• From acoustic jug band to electric swamp rock, this Middletown-based band covers some wide and wild terrain.

Regular gigs: Occasional local dates at Ripley's, Sudsy's and other clubs.

INSTRUMENTALIST

Chris Arduser

• He's drumming at the Cammys with the reunited pyschodots, but nowadays, Chris Arduser usually can be found wrangling acoustic guitar and mandolin with the Graveblankets and in 'blanket offshoots.

Regular gigs: With the Graveblankets on hold, Chris occasionally plays with fellow 'blankets in duos and trios at Kaldi's and does Brian Lovely's songwriter nights at Allyn's.

Most recent CD: Apple Plum Blood Pudding (with the Graveblankets).

Jason Dennie

• Utilizing altered tunings and other creative touches, this versatile guitarist lately has been exploring bluegrass terrain.

Regular gigs: Thursdays with Lee Rolfes at Stanley's.

Most recent CD: Living on Melody Lane.

David Gilligan

• Plays fiery harmonica for Ma Crow & the Flock and the Snakehandlers.

Regular gigs: Arnold's Bar & Grill.

Most recent CD: Dinner at Arnold's (with the Flock).


VOCALIST

Bridget Otto

• Solo and with the Graveblankets and her new rock band Otto, Bridget Otto's strong vocals and stage presence prove folk music isn't for wimps.

Regular gigs: Hosts an open mike the first Thursday of each month at Arlin's, plays occasional Sudsy's dates and at Brian Lovely songwriter nights at Allyn's.

Most Recent CD: Apple Plum Blood Pudding (with the Graveblankets).

Janet Pressley

• Warmly intimate singer-songwriter produced one of the best CDs of 1997.

Regular gigs: Rare dates, most frequently with her Blue Jordan label mates at York Street Cafe and occasionally at Southgate House as opening act.

Most Recent CD: Late Last Night.

Ma Crow

• From folk to blues, Ma Crow belts it all.

Regular gigs: Arnold's.

Most recent CD: Dinner at Arnold's (with the Flock).
