The NCAA has rejected Xavier's appeal to allow freshman Aaron Turner to be eligible this season, Athletic Director Mike Bobinski said Monday.
Turner, who narrowly missed becoming academically eligible with his final ACT score, was diagnosed with a learning disability, and XU asked the NCAA to allow him to play this season.
Turner, who has perhaps been the most steady of the first-year players, remains a partial qualifier, meaning he can practice with the team.
If he earns a degree after four years, he can apply for a fourth year of eligibility.
