Matta hires two assistants
Xavier officially added Sean Miller and John Groce to its men's basketball coaching staff Tuesday. Miller is the associate head coach, the first in XU history to have that designation.
Miller, 32, spent the past five years as an assistant at North Carolina State. He was the lead recruiter there.
He's a guy that brings tremendous experience both recruiting and coaching, XU coach Thad Matta said. He has shown he can sign the top players in the country.
Groce, 29, was an assistant for four years alongside Miller at N.C. State and spent last season with Matta at Butler.
I think he's one of the best young coaches in the country, Matta said.
