XU beats ISU in opener

Sophomore Kate Kreager scored 25 points and had six rebounds to lead Xavier to a season-opening victory.
XU, coming off a 31-3 season in which the Musketeers made the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, was tied 32-32 at half. But the Musketeers made 18 of 25 shots (72 percent) in the second half to pull away.
Point guard Amy Waugh had 16 points, 13 assists and three steals while playing all 40 minutes.
