Four Musketeers were selected to the preseason All-Atlantic 10 teams Tuesday.
Seniors Amy Waugh and Reetta Piipari were named to the A-10 second team, and freshmen Tara Boothe and Karolina Piotrkiewicz were selected to the all-rookie team by the conference coaches.
"I was excited that we had that many people involved," XU coach Kevin McGuff said. "It's a little bit difficult for me because I haven't seen all these kids play on the different teams. I do know there's a lot of talent in the league. I think very highly of Reetta and Amy, so for people to be picked ahead of them, well, there's a lot of talent in the league."
Waugh was named one of the top five point guards in the nation by ESPN.com and a preseason All-America honorable mention by Street & Smith and Womenscollegehoops.com.
"By the end of the year, I'm confident she will be one of the best players in this league," McGuff said.
Xavier was picked to finish fifth in the Atlantic 10 West Division. Coaches selected George Washington to repeat as West champion and Temple to claim the East title, which it shared last year with St. Joseph's.
