XU women's road to the title

First round: UC Santa Barbara (26-4): The Musketeers will have to deal with one of the country's biggest players, 6-feet-8 center Lindsay Taylor and a team with four double-figure scorers.

Second round: Texas Tech (26-5): Watch out for high-scoring forward-center Plenette Pierson and a Raiders team that outscored opponents by more than 500 points.

Sweet 16: Mississippi State (23-7): A one-two scoring punch of LaToya Thomas (25.6) and Tan White (18.0) lead the Lady Bulldogs.

Elite Eight: Duke (31-1): Alana Beard is a two- time ACC player of the year and averages 21.8 points.

Semifinals: Tennessee (28-4): This would be the rematch of the March 24, 2001, game when Xavier upset the Lady Vols 80-65 to advance to the Elite Eight.

Final: UConn (31-1): The Huskies had their 70-game winning streak snapped in the Big East Tournament. The defending national champions went 39-1 in 2001-02 and were led this season by guard Diana Taurasi, the national player of the year.
